What am I working on this week

Keeping track of the small thing I do throughout the week

Redesigning an administrative portal

Leadership wanted to centralize all the various administrative portals used by employees (IT, Facilities, HR/Payroll, Security) and asked my help designing and user testing the new all-in-one portal. I focused on bringing out the most important items from each category, using better color contrast, and bringing in other useful items like my requests.

Original Design

a website with a search bar, a menu, and three large buttons, a blue "HR Catalog", a green "payroll catalog, and a maroon "Self-help documents"

The UX of onboarding for those with accessibility needs

As part of my role as Co-Chair of the Accessibility Employee Resource group, I work with different parts of the administrative core to bring awareness to the day to day experience for employees with accessibility needs and use my Human Centered Design knowledge to help make the employee experience of work easy as possible. This is a slide form a round table I lead with HR Leadership.

describes the current problem set for the Accessiblity Emplyee Resources Group. Mainly IT staff dues not know how to help

part two

After getting the go ahead from HR leadership, I worked with members of Talent Acquisition, HR and IT to create an automated process where when an employee self identifies having a disability in their job application that would create a flagged in the system and be automatically forwarded the accommodations lead for HR, who could both start the accommodation process and would reach out to the new employee on their first day about the accommodations process. The head of accommodations sent me this message when we Slacked about her reaching out to the first person who went through this new process on their first day of work.

the employee was so happy that their new employer cared so much about them that she was overwhelmed with emotion! She was SOOO happy...there were tears and extreme gratitude that we CARE!
